Leisure as therapy for
black creatives.
The Last Resort Artist Retreat (TLRAR) residency subscribes to the concept of leisure as therapy for the Black creative and is committed to offering the space and curated-experience conducive to their rejuvenation.
The Last Resort Artist Retreat (TLRAR) is founded by multidisciplinary artist and Baltimore native, Derrick Adams.
We welcome creatives occupying space in the visual, sound-based, movement-based, culinary, and literary arts, as well as entrepreneurs whose interests seek to enrich the arts. Like many, we believe the creative community elevates society, and to foster this, we find leisure and communion with others a natural transmitting process for human growth.
The residency is by invitation only, through recommendations from notable practitioners and advisors in the related areas of discipline.
We welcome allies and supporters from the surrounding community to scheduled programming, including exhibitions, performances, screenings and lectures. The Last Resort Artist Retreat also believes in collaborating and supporting other like-minded organizations in Baltimore's local community.
